Big breakky is a lot...something got lost in translation when we ordered them sunny side up ! Be sure to book ahead for brunch as there's limited seating in Winter.They do awesome takeaway too. ”

I was very pleased with the customer service, the efficiency of staff, the price of meals and the generous portion sizes. I ordered a chicken schnitzel wrap with chips, and some others ordered the American beef burger, the chicken bao buns (photos included) and Korean chicken salad. Thank you so much to Hicksborough Cafe for the amazing hospitality and delicious food. A wonderful addition to Wonthaggi, and I will definitely come here again when I’m visiting the town. ”
“ We have been dinng here on a fairly regular basis. The food is always great thanks to the kitchen staff. Unfortunately the front of house staff need to smile more. Since the new owners have taken over the kitchen closes at 2.30pm. We arrived at 2.15pm after a 40min drive to find chairs on tables, cakes wrapped up and put away. We were asked if we wanted a toastie, to which I replied no we would like lunch please. Clearly she wanted to go home. The reply was that the kitchen staff would have to be asked. The reply back was a yes, so we had lunch. There were other people eating and trying to relax having their lunch, but out came the brush sweeping the floors and more chairs put onto the tables. This attitude is certainly not welcoming as we were made to feel uncomfortable. Also some attention needs to be given to cleaning the place as the window sills, walls and skirting boards are very dirty. Looks like that brush isn't doing its job apart from putting dust into the air over customers food. It would be beneficial to see positive changes here. ”

“ If you're ever in Wonthaggi or even just driving through you must stop here and get something to eat. The food is amazing! The spicy Korean fried chicken has so much flavour and the bao buns are some of the best I've ever had. The coffees and milkshakes are top notch too. There's lots on the menu and it all looks pretty good. I don't think you could go wrong with any meals. Eating inside is a little noisy and cramped and out the back probably isn't for anyone not stable on their feet. But there are tables out the front too. So plenty of seating. A very nice cafe and well worth a visit. ”
